Loans & Advances lets you issue loans and salary advances and recover them from salary. Payroll deducts each active loan's EMI automatically every month.

Before you start

  • Issuing, approving and changing loans needs Approve claims, issue loans & advances.
  • Attendex records the loan and recovers EMIs. You pay the money to the employee outside the app (bank transfer or cash).

Approve a request

  1. Go to Payroll → Loans & Advances ( open Loans & Advances). The cards show total outstanding, EMIs per month, pending requests and amount disbursed this financial year.
  2. On the Requested tab, click Review request on a request.
  3. Check or change the Amount (₹), Interest % p.a. (simple interest) and Tenure (months). The Monthly EMI and Total repayable update as you type, along with the share of the employee's current net pay.
  4. Set the Disbursal date and the First EMI month.
  5. Click Approve & disburse.

To decline, enter a reason in Reject with reason and click Reject request.

Issue a loan directly

  1. Click New loan / advance.
  2. Choose the employee, type, amount, interest, tenure, disbursal date and first EMI month.
  3. Click Issue & activate.

How EMIs are recovered

  • From the first EMI month, each payslip includes a deduction line "Loan EMI" or "Salary advance recovery".
  • The last EMI is never more than the outstanding amount. When it reaches zero, the loan moves to Closed.
  • If a draft payslip is deleted or recalculated, its EMI is handed back to the loan, so nothing is recovered twice.

Change an active loan

Open the loan from the Active tab. You see the EMI schedule, Repayment history and Timeline.

  • Record prepayment — enter an amount the employee paid back directly. The EMI stays the same; the loan finishes sooner.
  • Skip EMI — pick a month. Payroll won't deduct that month and the schedule moves one month later. Click Undo to remove a skip.
  • Change first EMI month — only before any EMI has been deducted.
  • Close loan — record the final settlement of the whole outstanding amount.
Large EMIs

If an EMI would push someone's net pay below zero, the payroll Review tab blocks approval with Negative net pay. Skip that month's EMI and recalculate the payslip.
