Set goals for your team as a manager
Managers can set goals for their direct reports, follow their progress and check in on their behalf from the employee portal.
On this page
If people report to you, the Goals page shows an extra tab for your team. From there you can set goals for one or several team members and keep an eye on their progress.
Before you start
- You must be someone's reporting manager in Attendex. The My team's goals tab appears only when you have direct reports.
- HR sets reporting managers on the employee profile — ask them if the tab is missing. See Employees & Core HR.
Steps
- Go to Me → Goals ( open Goals).
- Open the My team's goals tab. Each direct report is listed with their goals.
- Click Set goal for team to create a goal for several people at once, or click Goal next to one person.
- Pick the team members, enter the title, measure, target and dates.
- Optionally align the goal to a company goal, or to a department goal of that person's department.
- Click Create goal.
Each team member gets their own copy of the goal and an in-app notification ("New goal from your manager").
Follow and update progress
- Click a goal to see its progress, aligned goals and check-in history.
- Click Check in to record progress for your team member — useful after a 1:1.
- You can edit or delete goals that you created. Goals set by HR or by the employee themselves can only be checked in on.
Note
You can only set goals for your direct reports, not for people further down your reporting line.
