Build a salary structure

A salary structure is a reusable pay template: it tells Attendex how to split an annual CTC into components. Create one per grade or role (for example Staff, Managers, Interns) and assign it to as many employees as you like.

Before you start

• Create your salary components first — structures are built from them.
• You need the Run payroll, edit salary, FnF, deduction rules & adjustments permission.

How a structure works

Gross per month = annual CTC ÷ 12. Each row in the structure takes a share of it:

A common example: Basic 50% of CTC, HRA 40% of Basic, Special Allowance = Balance, PF 12% of Basic.

Steps

1. Go to Payroll → Salary Structure ( open Salary Structure) and stay on the Salary Structures tab.
2. Click New structure.
3. Enter a Name, an optional Code and a Description (who it is for).
4. Click Add component for each component and choose its Calculation and Value. Use Min ₹ and Max ₹ to cap a row if needed.
5. Add one earning with Balance (rest) so the whole CTC is allocated. If part of the CTC is not allocated, the builder warns you.
6. Type an amount in Preview for annual CTC to see the monthly breakdown, gross and net.
7. Tick Default for new employees if this should be your standard structure, and keep Active on.
8. Click Save structure.

Other actions

• Duplicate copies a structure so you can rename and adjust it.
• Delete works only when no employee currently has that structure. Otherwise assign them another structure first, or mark it inactive.
